  1. I know it has been touted for a while as a necessity to being found – Period. How to get to the intricacies is another story and such a long one at that. I have not even gotten around to properly discovering Twitter and yet some people swear by it especially when it comes to book sales. It is super difficult to stay up to date and be vigilant about posting. I am having a hard time getting anything written or getting to my art project. Although it is `supposed`to take not more than 20 minutes per social media profile – I seem to take hours to pour through each. I will bookmark your link here just in case I get some spare time. Thanks for posting.

    1. Don’t get me wrong, Lesley — there are many reasons for blogging! However, most of the people I work with are doing it to get found for some reason or other. I am seeing overwhelming evidence that of the 4 major social networks — and here I mean Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn and Twitter — only one has the power to impact search and that’s Google+. It’s scary, really, how powerful it is in skewing results and nothing matters to me more from a business perspective than understanding how to use this phenomenon to our advantage…

      1. Blogging allows some exposure as to what type of person is behind the ‘product’ and does have its place – I agree but when it comes right down to it, the product doesn’t sell or get exposure because of personality alone. If Google + is the way to go, which falls in line with many opinions based on fact then I’m in. Thanks for the heads-up that sunk in finally!
