I’m not much of an Ozzy Osbourne fan but I heard the words to this song for the first time today and I actually thought it was quite good…
Crazy,but that’s how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe it’s not too late
To learn how to love
And forget how to hate
Mental wounds not healing
Drivin’ me insane
I’m going off the rails on a crazy train
I’ve listened to preachers
I’ve listened to fools
I’ve watched all the dropouts
Who make their own rules
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you live the role
Mental wounds still screaming
Driving me insane
I’m going off the rails on a crazy train
I know that things are going wrong for me
You gotta listen to my words
Yeah
Heirs of a cold war
That’s what we’ve become
Inheriting troubles I’m mentally numb
Crazy, oh do I care
I’m living with something under my skin
Mental wounds not healing
Who and what’s to blame

Maybe the reason I find it so profound is that I’ve been riding the crazy train lately and I’m stepping off. I’m taking it as a sign…
Going off the rails on a crazy train….love this Todd

Step off today, Todd, and stay off for a few days! You can always catch the next train (if you choose). I’ve watched you in class- your mind moves a million miles a minute. Step off and slow down…
“Someone has pushed the fast-forward button on our days. As the microwave heats our morning danish, we pay bills on-line, [and] listen for the chime on the dryer… Little wonder we feel stressed out. Galatians 5:25 says, “… let us keep in step with the Spirit.” Often the Spirit takes very SLOW steps. Push the pause button and find a way [to] slow down today.”
~ Joni Eareckson Tada
My advice for the day:
* Look for the budding leaves on the trees.
* See the daffodils pushing up through the dirt.
* Watch the birds fly from tree to tree.
* Witness the slow and purposeful works of God, and learn how to slow down.
As for me, I’m buying a one way ticket on “The Midnight Train to Georgia.” “[She] said [she] would be leavin’ on that midnight train to Georgia, and [she’s] goin’ back [to find] a simpler place and time (Gladys Knight and the Pips).”

Thanks for the chuckle, Christy — I absolutly love Gladys and her Pips and that song! I never thought of them as having a ‘philosophy’ that I could ascribe to…
