Stress and negativity

“No one can create negativity or stress within you. Only you can do that by virtue of how you process your world.”

  1. This is nonsense. It is true partially and true to an extent and true in some situations, but if this is absolutized, it becomes nonsense. Think people, think! Certainly this applies in terms of many of people’s luxury illnesses and luxury concerns–stress is more matter of a person’s thinking, perception, and attitude, rather than anything inherent circumstantially. But beyond that, is what Dyer saying really true? Aren’t there examples you or I could come up with where the circumstances may indeed be very negative and stress-inducing and it’s not all “in our head”?

    1. Your response, John, reminds me of this quote: Nietszche said “You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.” I believe that what Dyer said is true hence the reason for my posting it. I respect your perspective nonetheless, although to my mind thinking and perception are people processing the world. Although it does not appear that way on the surface, it appears you agree with the quote after all…
