Choose How You Want to Feel

See on Scoop.itWholeheartedness

Instead of trying to change your feelings (as cognitive therapy attempts to do), change how you choose to view your thoughts. Practicing this way, we can notice what’s without immediately reacting, thus become better to choose how we want to react.

Todd Lohenry‘s insight:

You DO have a choice; in fact, how you want to feel is one of the few things you can actually control in life…

  1. Indeed! Love it! Hope you are well Todd, I didn’t hear back from you about the loss of Google reader. I hope you aren’t going through too much grief over it’s closing down. If you find a new version of a similar program, please let me know. Blessings to you!

    1. I’m sorry! I’ve been recovering from a knee surgery and I must have missed your query. The heir apparent to Google Reader is feedly — I tool I have been using alongside Google Reader for over 3 years. Right now, it actually syncs with Google Reader [although that won’t happen anymore after July 1]. For now, take a look at feedly but you can feel free to use Google Reader until July 1 knowing that you can export all your data #1 before it shuts down, and #2 that the best alternative may not have appeared yet. Check back at the beginning of June… :-D

By the way, looks like you had quite some storms in QLD over the weekend…

      1. Hi Todd, hope your knee isn’t giving you too much grief as you recover. Thank you for the info on feedly I will have to have a look. Yes we had a cracker of a storm right over our heads on Sunday afternoon. I was out giving my daughter a driving lesson and we got caught in it as it came on so quickly! Lucky we were only around the corner from home, I just got drowned as we swapped drivers lol. I love a storm though, Lets me know I am not in control, and how small I am in the big scheme of things, plus it refreshes everything. Wishing you a speedy recovery, blessings to you!

      2. Heh, heh, heh… I’ve picked up a new client in QLD and now there are three people I care about there! :-D

I’m glad you were unaffected and I understand how you feel about the storm. ‘The heavens declare’ as the Good Book says!

Thanks for your well wishes! I am progressing according to plan the doctor says — I just want to be fully recovered so I can take advantage of our short summer…
