How they got around Gal Gadot being five months pregnant during reshoots

ww-11.jpg

It would have been a fairly major plot twist if Wonder Woman had been pregnant in this summer’s blockbuster (though I could see a working mum plot arc working), so it was vital that actor Gal Gadot’s pregnancy be disguised. Gadot wasn’t showing during principal photography, but by the time she returned to Leavesden Studios for reshoots she was visibly five months pregnant.

These kindergartners perfectly illustrate why ‘Wonder Woman’ is such a big hit

A Tumblr user who says she works at a kindergarten wrote up a collection of “cute Wonder Woman related things that happened within a week of the movie being released.” For instance, when a group of girls at recess couldn’t decide who would get to be Wonder Woman, they all “agreed to be Amazons and not fight, but work together to defeat evil,” while another girl reprimanded a boy for throwing a candy wrapper on the floor, yelling, “Don’t pollute you idiot! That is why there are no men in Themyscira!” Themyscria, of course, is the all-Amazon island where Diana Prince hails from.

Real but Not True: Freeing Ourselves from Harmful Beliefs

Tara Brach is one of my favorite teachers. Here is one of her dharma talks along with a meditation…

Tara BrachThoughts and beliefs are navigational maps that are not inherently true. Rather, some serve us and others cause feelings of separation, self-aversion and/or blame of others. We can free ourselves from harmful beliefs by investigating them with a dedicated, mindful and courage presence. This talk guides us in mindful investigation through an illustrative story, an outline of steps, and a guided meditation that addresses limiting beliefs surrounding interpersonal conflict.

30 Ways to Make Yourself Miserable

This is a compilation of the top 30 ways to make yourself miserable (along with everyone around you). It’s a well-known fact that “Misery loves company.” Why hoard your suffering when it is so easy to share with others? Many people have made their families miserable. Some have succeeded in making their neighborhood miserable. There are historical records documenting experts who brought misery to entire civilizations. We can use these glorious accomplishments to compare ourselves to, which will allow us to feel incapable, miniscule, or completely unworthy (This is Technique 11, detailed below).
