Followers of this blog will know that I am what has been referred to as a “quote maven”. It’s not that I don’t have any original thoughts. Rather, I have always been interested in words and language and like the good book says “a word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a basket of silver”. Over 40 years ago, I was given a copy of the 15th edition of Bartlett’s Book of Quotations and that book has become a ‘friend’ of sorts through the years — I often find solace or inspiration in the pages of that old book. These days, you can find the contents of the book and much more at http://bartleby.com but you see there was no internet in those days!
