When love comes to town

If I want to keep a secret from my wife, I post it on my blog! We have a mixed marriage when it comes to technology — I’m addicted. She’s ambivalent. I design websites, teach social media. She’s happy I know how to do it well, but could care less about my craft…

Still, I had to share this news with someone — my good friend Ernie scored me a couple of great seats to the BB King concert at the Oneida Nation casino tonight! Love is coming to town…

She’s been in Italy for a couple of weeks and having these tickets drop in my lap is a real blessing for both of us; a great chance to do something special to mark her return. Oh, and Lynn — don’t tell your seester… :-D

Carpe The Hell Out of This Diem

My neighbor has a brain tumor. He’s in hospice. He’s under forty.

So yeah, this seems about right.

The best day to do something amazing is always today.

What a great rendition of one of my all time fav U2 songs. Thanks for sharing this, David…

Not only are Bono and The Edge awesome together, the lyrics are sheer poetry…

I’m not afraid of anything in this world
There’s nothing you can throw at me that I haven’t already heard
I’m just trying to find a decent melody
A song that I can sing in my own company

I never thought you were a fool
But darling, look at you
You gotta stand up straight, carry your own weight
These tears are going nowhere, baby

You’ve got to get yourself together
You’ve got stuck in a moment and now you can’t get out of it
Don’t say that later will be better
Now you’re stuck in a moment
And you can’t get out of it

I will not forsake the colours that you bring
The nights you filled with fireworks
They left you with nothing
I am still enchanted by the light you brought to me
I listen through your ears, and through your eyes I can see

And you are such a fool
To worry like you do
I know it’s tough, and you can never get enough
Of what you don’t really need now my oh my

You’ve got to get yourself together
You’ve got stuck in a moment and you can’t get out of it
Oh, love, look at you now
You got yourself stuck in a moment and you can’t get out of it

I was unconscious, half asleep
The water is warm till you discover how deep
I wasn’t jumping; for me it was a fall
It’s a long way down to nothing at all

You’ve got to get yourself together
You’ve got stuck in a moment and now you can’t get out of it
Don’t say that later will be better
Now you’re stuck in a moment and you can’t get out of it

And if the night runs over
And if the day won’t last
And if our way should falter
Along this stony pass

And if the night runs over
And if the day won’t last
And if your way should falter
Along this stony pass
It’s just a moment
This time will pass

I’m a fan of Michael Hurley’s blog, “We Move Together.” Urge you to check it out. As Michael says, this is “freaking brilliant.” I completely agree. Check out Michael post and U2’s Bono and The Edge performing “Stuck in a Moment.” Fantastic video clip to kick off your Friday.

Why does life have to be so hard?

“Why does doing this have to be so hard?” I asked a friend one day.

“It doesn’t,” he said.

Challenge: Unquestionably, life can be tough and challenging at times. It hurts. It can be scary and confusing. Many of us have had to garner great amounts of strength and courage to face difficult situations. There are times when endurance and rising to the occasion are important survival skills. It equally important to know when an easy-does-it approach is enough.” via May 18.

Good morning

Be positive! Make people feel loved! And you will get the same thing in return. Not only from them, but you will definitely feel better about yourself.

And the flaw with men? Even being thankful is no replacement for a deep appreciation of a woman’s worth. I thought I was doing pretty good until my wife went to Italy for 17 days — I appreciate her worth in a much deeper way than I did a month ago…

Women have strengths that amaze men.

They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy.

They smile when they want to scream.

They sing when they want to cry.

They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.

They fight for what they believe in.

They stand up to injustice.

They don’t take “no” for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.

They go without so their family can have.

They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.

They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.

They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding.

Their hearts break when a friend dies.

They grieve at the loss of a family…
