The Disciplined Pursuit of Less

Excellent article from HBR. I love this: ask “What is essential?” and eliminate the rest. Everything changes when we give ourselves permission to eliminate the nonessentials…

6 Ways to Become Less Codependent…

Margarita Tartakovsky writes…

“Most of us live in a state of codependence, be it with our partners, friends or social group,” according to Isha Judd, author of the books Love Has Wings and Why Walk When You Can Fly . We let others shape our beliefs and decisions — so much so that we lose sight of who we are, she said.

Darlene Lancer, MFT, a psychotherapist and author of Codependency for Dummies, also noted that many people don’t become fully autonomous, instead “forming our feelings and behaviors around something external.”

Autonomy means being the author of your life, she said. You compose the rules you live by. It means “owning your own reality, perceptions, thoughts, feelings, opinions [and] memories.”

Creationism Versus Evolutionism: When Will This Debate Ever End?

photoOne of my favorite writers Dr. Steve McSwain writes…

We could not be luckier here in Kentucky. We are that state that promotes religious quackery. Oh, in case you don’t know or are thinking of traveling south to warmer climates, on your way through Kentucky stop and see the Creation Museum. It is our pyramid to primitive faith.

Soon the museum will serve as host to what some are saying is the debate of the century — Creationism versus Evolutionism. Not since the days of the Scopes Monkey Trial has there been another more important debate.
