[Sacred space] is an absolute necessity for anybody today. You must have a room, or a certain hour or so a day, where you don’t know what was in the newspapers that morning, you don’t know who your friends are, you don’t know what you owe anybody, you don’t know what anybody owes to you. This is a place where you can simply experience and bring forth what you are and what you might be. This is the place of creative incubation. At first you may find that nothing happens there. But if you have a sacred place and use it, something eventually will happen. […]

Our life has become so economic and practical in its orientation that, as you get older, the claims of the moment upon you are so great, you hardly know where the hell you are, or what it is you intended. You are always doing…

Love me when I least deserve it, because that’s when I really need it. ~ Swedish proverb

It is easy to love someone when all is well. When they’re meeting our expectations. When there exists a reciprocal flow of give and take between you and another.

Anyone who has ever been forgiven in spite of what they’ve done, or felt shame, yet saw love reflected in the eyes of another, or been held in a loving embrace when they’ve screwed up,  can tell you that love is most needed when it’s undeserved.

Love – real love – is much more than a feeling.

Love is an act of our will.

Some People Are Not Good For Me

Mmmm…

My Positive Outlooks's avatarMy Positive Outlooks

I am slowly learning that some people are not good for me, no matter how much I love them. I deserve someone who is gentle and kind, because my soul is getting tired. I am realizing that I deserve something good is one of the first steps. — Michelle K.

Here Is Kevin Spacey’s Audition to Be a ‘Tiger Beat’ Magazine Teen Idol

I’m a huge Kevin Spacey fan. Here he is as a teen…

Long before Kevin Spacey became House of Cards’ Frank Underwood or even L.A. Confidential’s Jack Vincennes, the wannabe actor auditioned for another all-important role: Tiger Beat magazine teen idol. Jimmy Kimmel showed footage of Spacey at a cattle call alongside other ’70s dudes (the hair! the tops!). “I was auditioning for everything during this time,” Spacey said, explaining he had just dropped out of high school. “Did I get in Tiger Beat magazine? No, I don’t think so. I looked like Humphrey Bogart.” But that wasn’t the only strange gig he went for.
