How to choose the Twitter client that’s right for you
More than a third of all tweets are sent by people visiting Twitter’s default Web client. Which is too bad, because Twitter, as a website, is by far the least effective way to use Twitter as a network.
But even though just about any third-party client will provide you with a better way to use Twitter, picking the client that’s right for you can be daunting. Should you install a client or use one that runs in your browser? Which features are really necessary? Should you pay for any of these services?
I typically prefer browser-based clients because I think its easier to move between browser windows than separate programs, but I wouldn’t turn my nose up at an installed client with a really great feature set just for that. The best client for you is the one that fits your workflow — if you really need to be able to schedule tweets to be effective and a client doesn’t give you that option, then it’s the wrong service for you, even if everyone else loves it.
Agreed — browser based is the way to go. Platform independent and always available. Me? I’m a HootSuite guy — I love everything they do from the web to their Android app. How about you? btw, you can follow the ‘via’ link if you’d like to go to the source…

How To Create Link Bait Content

Throughout my blogging career, I’ve worked hard on my writing style. I’ve improved over time, and I’m at a point now where I believe I have perfected my ability to write link bait articles. A link bait article is an article that makes many readers want to reference it within their articles, or link to it as a general resource.
The thing I love about link baiting is that it allows your blog to build some quality backlinks and increase search rank over time. It also means additional targeted traffic is attracted to your blog, which can mean more subscribers. Let’s see how you can start writing such articles, and increasing your presence on the web.

Facebook vs. Twitter in 2010

“Saying that there is limited number of infographics we can post about Facebook would be a lie. Since we all use Facebook everyday, we can all look at facebook infographics over and over again right? Well, I couldn’t hear your answer to my question so I’m going to go with yes. I hope that’s okay.
Facebook gets all of the fame, movie deals and billions in funding, but this graphic is half about twitter too. The reason I like twitter so much is how it helps the users show their personality. Celebrities, brands, and companies are all not just some entity you’ll never interact with anymore. They all have their own personality that we can relate to… or not.
Facebook being 5 times bigger than twitter does come into account when comparing the two companies. The draw of facebook and ‘friends’ just blows twitter away. I follow at least twice the number of people who follow me. Where on facebook, everyone who is friends with a person ‘follows’ them back. I know that when I post a status, it will be seen by quite a few people who will want to comment on it, on twitter it just isn’t the same.
I recently read an article on how the social media bubble may burst. This technology is so new, no one knows if marketing on it will yield long-term results. It seems like every company, big and small, are hiring a social media guru to help with their public relations. Sure, having a presence on facebook alone will bring in more customers, but what happens with the new-car-smell of social media wears off? Nothing. Marketing on facebook and twitter will become more difficult, but not less prominent. A lot of hard-work, innovation and good relationships will be necessary to have a successful online strategy. Hiring some teenage-self-proclaimed social media wizard isn’t going to cut it.” Source: 2010 Social Media Wrap-up. Facebook Vs Twitter [infographic]
