The Magic of Doing One Thing at a Time

Why is it that between 25% and 50% of people report feeling overwhelmed or burned out at work? It’s not just the number of hours we’re working, but also the fact that we spend too many continuous hours juggling too many things at the same time: The Magic of Doing One Thing at a Time – Harvard Business Review – Pocket

Report Reveals Widespread Sexual Abuse By Over 300 Priests In Pennsylvania

A long-awaited grand jury investigation into clergy sexual abuse details decades of misconduct and cover-up in six of the state’s eight Roman Catholic dioceses: Report Reveals Widespread Sexual Abuse By Over 300 Priests In Pennsylvania

Trigger alert: Report details alleged Catholic church ‘playbook’ for hiding sexual abuse

I don’t normally post disturbing content on this site but I’m so angry about this news I feel I need to distribute it everywhere so as many people are aware as possible.

“A grand jury in Pennsylvania released a 1,300-word report Tuesday detailing allegations that the Roman Catholic Church spent decades covering up sexual abuse claims against 300 “predator priests” who are said to have targeted nearly 1,000 children.

The report covers 70 years of alleged abuse and the lengths that church officials went to cover up the accusations, using what investigators described in the report as a “a playbook for concealing the truth.”

Special agents identified several common practices across the files from the six dioceses they investigated that kept the accusations within the church, and avoided recording any criminal identifications in the documents. Source:

Blogging via Email? It’s a thing!

I wrote this on another blog but you might find it interesting…

Todd Lohenry's avatarEinstein's Razor

Back in the dark days of the last decade websites were difficult to update. If you wanted to change a comma to a period on your site, you had to call a graphic designer who would charge you $100 to make the change. About that time a new type of website technology emerged called a Blog. Of course, I know they have been around for much longer than that but they really only began to gain momentum as a business tool about 10 years ago which is kind of hard to imagine now.

In those days I started to gain the vision for business blogging when I learned that most popular blogging Technologies actually had a secret email address and one even has a secret phone number so that you can either send an email to your website or make a phone…

The Sage Within via Mindfully Musing

Tara LeMieux’s website is worth following for posts like this…

Reading Time: 1 minute. In the earliest hours of morning, before the bustling of day settles in – there is a space that begs our invitation; one that encourages our heart’s rest. In these first fleeting moments, stillness stretches her arms into thoughtful arabesque. It is here in this space where our awareness begins to form…

Your own tedious thoughts

#REPOST @jack_kornfield with @get_repost__app What most people experience is an inner waterfall, a cascading stream of thoughts. With mindfulness, you can stop taking your thoughts so seriously. You can come to know that your thoughts make a good servant but not a good master. The first thing you can do is to listen to your thoughts with mindful awareness. You will see the evanescent nature of thoughts, that they are fleeting ideas, all impermanent. And then you can begin to realize that just because you have a thought doesn’t mean you have to believe it—much less act on it—and certainly not get caught up in the whole stream of them. You can release the mind of some of its more dangerous patterns. Observing the mind with mindfulness brings liberation. #mindfulness #Jackkornfield #repostw10

Todd’s Sunday Read

For the past two years I have been working in retail and I rarely get a Sunday morning off. Today was one of those rare days off without travel or other plans so I’m enjoying my idea of a perfect Sunday morning complete with good coffee and rye toast (breakfast of eggs and sausage coming up soon).

With all due respect to my friend David Amerland, here’s my version of perfect content for a Sunday Morning!

The Importance of Having a Purpose in Digital Transformation and Innovation

Brian Solis says: Many organizations are simply investing in new technologies and expertise to simply modernize legacy models, processes and systems. However, to compete for the future, to earn market relevance, modernization is just not good enough. You have to give innovation a purpose. You have to give meaning to your work. Source: The Importance of Having a Purpose in Digital Transformation and Innovation
