Wonderful
Wonderful, isn’t it wonderful now
I close my eyes when I get too sad
I think thoughts that I know are bad
Close my eyes and I count to ten
Hope it’s over when I open themI want the things that I had before
Like a Star Wars poster on my bedroom door
I wish I could count to ten
And make everything be wonderful againI hope my mom and I hope my dad
Will figure out why they get so mad
I hear them scream, I hear them fight
They say bad words that makes me want to cryClose my eyes when I go to bed and I
Dream of angels who make me smile
I feel better when I hear them say that
Everything will be wonderful some dayPromises mean everything
When you’re little and the world is so big
I just don’t understand how
You can smile with all those tears in your eyes
When you tell me everything is wonderful nowNa na nana……..
Please don’t tell me everthing is wonderful nowI go to school and I run and play
I tell the kids that it’s all ok
I have to laugh so my friends wont know
When the bell rings I just don’t want to go homeGo to my room and I close my eyes
I make believe that I have a new life
I don’t believe you when you say that
Everything will be wonderful some dayPromises mean everything
When you’re little and the world is so big (so big)
I just don’t understand how
You can smile with all those tears in your eyes
When you tell me everything is wonderful nowNa na nana……..
No. No. I don’t want to hear you tell me everything is wonderful now.
No. No. I don’t want to hear you tell me everything is wonderful now.

I don’t want to hear you say that you both have grown in a different way
No. No. No.
No I don’t want to meet your friend
I don’t want to start over again
I just want my life to be the same
Just like it used to be
Somedays, I hate everything

The reason
I’m not a perfect person
There’s many things I wish I didn’t do
But I continue learning
I never meant to do those things to you
And so, I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know
I’ve found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
And the reason is you
I’m sorry that I hurt you
It’s something I must live with everyday
And all the pain I put you through
I wish that I could take it all away
And be the one who catches all your tears
That’s why I need you to hear
I’ve found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
And the reason is you
And the reason is you
And the reason is you
And the reason is you
I’m not a perfect person
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know
I’ve found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
And the reason is you
I’ve found a reason to show
A side of me you didn’t know
A reason for all that I do
And the reason is you

My new blogging buddy Lexocat gave me a song today — I hope she doesn’t mind if I share it with you…
Actually, I’m quite familiar with this one being the blues fan that I am. I think Clapton did my favorite rendition but BB King covered it well, too. Here are a few others including one by the Jackson 5 with Michael Jackson singing lead…
Letting Go of Self Doubt
A married woman who had recently joined Al-Anon called me one afternoon. She worked part-time as a registered nurse, had assumed all the responsibilities for raising her two children, and did all the household chores, including repairs and finances. “I want to separate from my husband,” she sobbed. “I can’t stand him or his abuse any longer. But tell me, please tell me,” she said, “do you think I can take care of myself?” Codependent No More
Not only is it okay to take care of ourselves, we can take good care of ourselves.
Many of us, so confident about our ability to take care of others, doubt our inherent strength to care for ourselves. We may have come to believe, from our past or present circumstances, that we need to take care of others and we need others to take care of us. This is the ultimate codependent belief.
No matter where this self-defeating belief was born, we can release it and replace it with a better one, a healthier one, a more accurate one.
We can take care of ourselves — whether we are in or out of a relationship. Everything we need will be provided. We will have loved ones, friends, and our Higher Power to help.
Knowing that we can take care of ourselves doesn’t mean we won’t have feelings of fear, discomfort, doubt, anger, and fragility at times. It means we practice “courageous vulnerability,” as Colette Dowling called it in Cinderella Complex. We may feel scared, but we do it anyway.
Today, God, help me know how I can take care of myself.” via Daily Meditation ~ Letting Go of Self Doubt – Miracles In Progress Codependents Anonymous Group.

On imbibing…
During the Civil War, Secretary of War Edwin Stanton delivered this confidential report to the President:
“Mr. President,” intoned the bearded Stanton gravely, “I must tell you that witnesses have observed General Grant actually imbibing in his tent.”
“Is that so?” drawled Lincoln. “Can you tell me what brand of whiskey he’s drinking?”
“I don’t understand why that is necessary,” replied his confused secretary of war.
“Because,” answered Lincoln, “I want to send a case of it to my other generals.”

It’s Not About Winning; It’s About Taking Part
The Olympics are upon us again, and if there’s one thing most of us have realized about this global event is that it’s more than just an international gathering of athletes or a campaign for medals, but also a celebration of solidarity and humanity.
This quick video that we stumbled upon, however, draws another inspiring lesson from the spirit of the Olympics, shining some good light on the importance of participation. Because it’s not just about winning, or being an athlete, or being a patriot for your country – it’s about taking part.
And if we apply this enthusiasm beyond the event, it reminds us again about the importance of being involved, being supportive and being present; be it for your team, your loved ones, your community and even for yourself.
Okay so the video is a commercial by Samsung… but it also happens to be one of the best public service announcements we’ve seen on the spirit of the Olympics. Plus, did we say it’s got soccer (or football) icon David Beckham and star chef Jamie Oliver in it?
Tell us, what do the Olympics mean to you aside from sports, medals and athletes? What do you look forward to about the 2012 Olympics in London this July? via It’s Not About Winning; It’s About Taking Part – An Awesome Olympics Ad! | FinerMinds.

San Francisco throws a party for Golden Gate Bridge’s 75th birthday
Holy Kaw! I was there for the 50th — what a party THAT was. Get more images and video here: San Francisco throws a party for Golden Gate Bridge’s 75th birthday.
Here I am at the 50th back in the days when I lived within running distance of the bridge — as you can see, 25 years is a long time…
