How to Block Premature Holiday Posts on Facebook

I think the first time it happened to me this year was last weekend, the beginning of November, in an IKEA. When we rounded that final corner to the cash registers, my boyfriend and I came face to face with hundreds of artificial holiday trees waiting to bought. Afterwards, I started noticing advent calendars and ornaments popping up almost everywhere I go, along with mentions of the holidays in my social feeds. Morning Prayer

So far I’ve done all right.
I haven’t gossipped,
haven’t lost my temper,
haven’t been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish, or overindulgent.

I’m going to get out of bed.
And from then on,
I’m going to need a lot more help.

This is a very valuable saying for me, because I am what you would call a classic “external processor.” While that phrase has saved me from saying things that could have a negative impact, it has also encouraged me to self-edit and sometimes hesitate to voice opinions or concerns. This week’s Fierce tip encourages you to say it out loud.
