Have I Told You Lately

And she’s back! Don’t wait until your significant other goes to Italy for 18 days to play this song for them — make plans today to tell that special someone THIS WEEKEND there is no one else above them…

Have I told you lately that I love you?

Have I told you there’s no one else above you?

Fill my heart with gladness, take away all my sadness,

Ease my troubles, that’s what you do.

For the morning sun in all it’s glory,

Meets the day with hope and comfort too,

You fill my life with laughter, somehow you make it better,

Ease my troubles, that’s what you do.

There’s a love less defined,

And its yours and its mine,

Like the sun.

And at the end of the day,

We should give thanks and pray,

To The One, to The One.

Have I Told You Lately that I love you?

Have I told you there’s no one else above you?

Fill my heart with gladness, take away all my sadness,

Ease my troubles, that’s what you do.

There’s a love less defined,

And its yours and its mine,

Like the sun.

And at the end of the day,

We should give thanks and pray,

To The One, to The One.

Have I Told You Lately That I Love you?

Have I told you there’s no one else above you?

Fill my heart with gladness, take away all my sadness,

Ease my troubles, that’s waht you do.

Take away all my sadness, fill my life with gladness,

Ease my troubles, that’s what you do.

Take away all my sadness, fill my life with gladness,

Ease my troubles, that’s what you do.

Pope John Paul II born; This Day in History

Pope John Paul II on 12 August 1993 in Denver ...

“On May 18, 1920, Karol Jozef Wojtyla is born in the Polish town of Wadowice, 35 miles southwest of Krakow. Wojtyla went on to become Pope John Paul II, history’s most well-traveled pope and the first non-Italian to hold the position since the 16th century. After high school, the future pope enrolled at Krakow’s Jagiellonian University, where he studied philosophy and literature and performed in a theater group. During World War II, Nazis occupied Krakow and closed the university, forcing Wojtyla to seek work in a quarry and, later, a chemical factory. By 1941, his mother, father, and only brother had all died, leaving him the sole surviving member of his family.

Although Wojtyla had been involved in the church his whole life, it was not until 1942 that he began seminary training. When the war ended, he returned to school at Jagiellonian to study theology, becoming an ordained priest in 1946. He went on to complete two doctorates and became a professor of moral theology and social ethics. On July 4, 1958, at the age of 38, he was appointed auxiliary bishop of Krakow by Pope Pius XII. He later became the city’s archbishop, where he spoke out for religious freedom while the church began the Second Vatican Council, which would revolutionize Catholicism. He was made a cardinal in 1967, taking on the challenges of living and working as a Catholic priest in communist Eastern Europe. Once asked if he feared retribution from communist leaders, he replied, “I’m not afraid of them. They are afraid of me.” via Pope John Paul II born — History.com This Day in History — 5/18/1920.

Truly one of the great men of our time. I’m currently reading a book about him and Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan called The President, The Pope and The Prime Minister which I highly recommend if you’re interested in recent history…

Don’t Stop Living Your Life

“So often, when a problem occurs, inside or around us, we revert to thinking that if we put our life on hold we can positively contribute to the solution. If a relationship isn’t working, if we face a difficult decision, if we’re feeling depressed, we may put our life on hold and torment ourselves with obsessive thoughts.

Abandoning our life or routines contributes to the problem and delays us from finding the solution.

Frequently, the solution comes when we let go enough to live our life, return to our routine, and stop obsessing about the problem.

Sometimes, even if we don’t feel like we have let go or can let go, we can act as if we have, and that will help bring about the letting go we desire.

You don’t have to give up your power to problems. You can take your focus off your problem and direct it to your life, trusting that doing so will bring you closer to a solution.

Today, I will go on living my life and tending to my routine. I will decide, as often as I need to, to stop obsessing about whatever is bothering me. If I don’t feel like letting go of a particular thing, I will act as if I have let go of it until my feelings match my behavior.” via Language of Letting Go – May 18 – Don’t Stop Living Your Life – SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information.

resetWhat if we all had a reset button? Maybe in the middle of our forehead or more subtly placed behind our ear. You wouldn’t want to press it too often; maybe never.  But if you did, you would go back to your default settings.  Back to before you screwed up.  We could go back to how we were as children.

Imagine that.   No bias, no guilt, no pre-conceptions, nothing.  Just a clean slate.  I kind of like that idea.  I like it even though I’ve often proclaimed that everything that I’ve done in my life has gotten me to this very moment; lessons learned, mistakes made, success achieved, along with pain, guilt, and failure.  We are all the jumbled events of our lives and our choices and sometimes that results in a lot of unhappiness, doesn’t it?

Or maybe that’s just me.  I’m trying mightily to expunge the demons of…

Does Your Story Empower You?

“Don’t allow your situation to become your world.” Bishop T.D. Jakes

“We all have a story. Sometimes it explains why we can’t do something and other times our story propels us forward. I’ve heard cases where people have the same story such as lack of money, resources, or knowledge and one person eventually starts a successful business while the other is out of work and depressed. One story with completely opposite outcomes.” Go to the source: Does Your Story Empower You? « Positively Positive.

How To Eat Information

“Information, if viewed from the point of view of food, is never a production issue. … It’s a consumption issue, and we have to start thinking about how we create diets and exercise,” said JP Rangaswami in his TEDx presentation.

For a man who currently has 38,000 books in his collection and lives in Calcutta, India where they are known for their rich, savory and sweet Southern Indian cuisine, his is a theory that could very well make sense!

Since most of us consume food according to a certain diet, minimize our surrender to sinful indulgences, measure our nutrition intake to make sure we have enough of everything; it’s possible that we’ve been doing the exact same thing all along with our consumption of data – or perhaps we should. As Plato the philosopher once said, “Knowledge is the food of the soul”.

“When I saw Supersize Me, I started thinking, now what would happen if an individual had 31 days of nonstop Fox News?” joked JP Rangaswami.

What do you think? If you saw information the way you see food, what would you do to digest the knowledge differently – nibble, bite, scoff or binge?” via How To Eat Information | FinerMinds.

I ‘eat’ information via Gmail, Google Reader and Gist and then share the best of it here. If you want to ‘eat’ better, I suggest you need better thoughts, tools and tactics. One way to do that might be to read my free ebook on ‘personal news aggregation’. Register at http://e1evation.com/pna/…

Long before I saw this TEDx talk on eating information, my thinking on the topic was galvanized by Clay Johnson’s book The Information Diet which I highly recommend if you are intrigued by JP Rangaswami’s thoughts and are looking for more on the topic…

Me? I ‘eat’ information via Gmail, Google Reader and Gist and then share the best of it here and at business.toddlohenry.com, Twitter, Twylah, etc. Johnson’s book and Rangaswami’s statement about “Information overload or ‘filter failure’?” address the heart of the matter — just because I can track almost anything or anyone in Google Reader or Gist doesn’t mean I should in the same way that I shouldn’t eat everything I find at the Piggly Wiggly and I certainly shouldn’t eat it all at the same time! As the Apostle Paul said “All things are possible but not all things are beneficial” — tools without forethought result in poor tactics. Johnson and Rangaswami’s thoughts can help us ‘eat’ information on purpose instead of by accident…

What is LOVE???

Remember when you first fell in love?

That feeling of butterflies,

Fluttering around in your stomach.

That first magical kiss, where did it come from?

Only God really knows…

What is Love?

Love is an undying commitment

Which cannot be bought

Love in its purest form is a gift from God

It endures forever…no matter what

Love is forgiveness and understanding

Love is seeing what cannot be seen and having

Faith that God will answer prayers

Love is having complete trust in the person God

Brought into your life, no matter the circumstances

Or difficult paths each one of us must climb

Love is like a flower,

There is a time to die and a time to bloom

It is when the flower blooms,

That it can be loved by all

Love is the greatest gift that God gives us

When you give your heart to another…

I don’t understand, but God has a plan…

A plan to not bring me harm, but to prosper and provide for me

Even when I do not understand myself…

I just remember that God has a plan, and it’s an AWESOME plan

I may not always know what I want or how I feel

But I am reassured, because I know that God has a plan…

God’s plan has no limits and he understands me completely.

When I am weary with tears, God is there to say “its ok my child”

I understand your pain; remember to trust in me, I won’t fail you

My promises are golden, they are cast in stone, and you can count on me always

I don’t understand, but God has a plan
